We are a BOOTSTRAPPING business.  We have raised zero venture capital. We do not ask for or accept donations. Camel + Needle is funded out of pocket.  With every printing and title release our goal is simple–end in the black. We use the proceeds from sales to pay all business expenses, we pay ourselves a standard writer’s/illustrator’s royalty for our work, and the leftovers are used to start the next project. With every printing we hope to make enough to do it again.

We don’t offer sales and discounts because we can’t. The ledgers don’t have room for it. What we offer instead is desirable, and timeless content, and pricing that is more than fair.  It is a hard and unglamorous business model.  But it is clean and sensible. With hard work and patience, we hope to make Camel + Needle profitable.
